Rules of the hackathon

Procedure for collecting applications from participants

  • 1
Hackathon participants are teams of 1 to 5 people from anywhere in the world, English-speaking, Russian-speaking or partially Russian-speaking.
  • 2
Applications for participation are collected via our own data collection form and are not shared with third parties or organisations.
  • 3
Participants can apply for participation to solve one of the problems proposed by the organisers, or submit their own project that meets the ideas of privacy and access to information, as well as special tracks allocated at the hackathon.
  • 4
Both teams and individual, adult participants can apply.
  • 5
The number of places is limited. All applications are reviewed by the Organising Committee and experts for compliance with the hackathon values and competences of the participants and are subject to a competitive selection process.
Demhack 9 will be held online on 21-22 September 2024. To participate in the hackathon, you need to apply and pass a competitive selection process. Participation in the hackathon is free of charge.

A list of tasks has been formed for the hackathon, based on expert sessions of privacy specialists and hackathon partners. Solving them is a priority. However, it is also possible to propose your own project.

If you submit your project, you should explain in the description what problem it solves, what challenge in the sphere of privacy and access to information it answers, why your solution is relevant, and show its social value.

The right to privacy of hackathon participants is a value of the event. It is forbidden to publish photos, videos or other personal data of hackathon participants outside the event without their permission.

Teams publish the project code on GitHub or analogue.

The organiser reserves the right to refuse participation without giving reasons.
